Gracias, Lempira is one of the oldest cities in Honduras. It is located at the base of El Cerro de las Minas in Parque Nacional Montaña de Celaque, the highest peak in the country. It is the home of the President of Honduras. It is also where William Orellana’s hummingbird garden attracts the spectacular Sparkling-tailed Woodstar. Seeing this bird there is a “sure thing” so that is where we spent Day Five.
THE FOLLOWING INCREDIBLE VIDEOS OF THE SPARKLING-TAILED WOODSTAR WERE FILMED ON THIS PROPERTY BY WILLIAM ORELLANA

Jenny and I got some great photos of this bird. While we were there William took pictures of shots on our cameras because the President of Honduras wanted to see them. Really? OK. It turns out that he is a birder. But how did he know we were here?
This is a sample of the pictures I took this day. Check the photo gallery for more pictures of this bird.
